HUSBAND'S MAGIC ROLE GOES TO ANN HOLLOWAY'S HEAD

Ann Holloway who played Karen in Father, Dear Father, could be forgiven if she shouted for parental advice. After all, it isn't every day a girl has her head chopped off by her husband, or sees doves and flowers suddenly appear.

Husband is actor Michael McKenzie (sic), to be seen as a dentist on Saturday in Albert And Victoria. Now he is to star as a magician in a children's series called Ace of Wands which starts in a fortnight's time.

McKenzie is not a magician, but TVTalk's Alan Kennaugh is a Magic Circle member. And he went along to the McKenzie's flat in King's Road, Chelsea, to discuss the role with TV's new wizard.

McKenzie is tall, dark and handsome. As Tarot, the magician, he plays a sort of super sleuth. "I am supposed to produce all manner of things in my act and also use my skill as an illusionist to break up the big boys of the underworld. I am doing my homework thoroughly. Ann is being very understanding about it."

Tarot is also supposed to have the gift of telepathic communication but this is not working as well as it night at the moment in that McKenzie still has to telephone Ann when he is likely to be late home from rehearsals.

McKenzie says, "I think children will love this new character. There is a little bit of Batman in him and he has the adventurous spirit of The Avengers."
